Shot at Cape Verde Islands, Decem­ber 2018​

Dir­ectly from above, some tid­al pools of the Cape Verde Islands look like bird’s-eye-view land­scapes. If you take a closer look you will see stones, algae, snails, shells and sea urchins. Tak­ing the photo of the open sea anemones was a real chal­lenge. At low tide they pull back and all that’s left are little brown bumps. Only when they are com­pletely sur­roun­ded by water, they show their tentacles and the col­or changes to a bright red.
