Low Tide

Low Tide

Shot at Cape Verde Islands, December 2018

Directly from above, some tidal pools of the Cape Verde Islands look like bird’s-eye-view landscapes. If you take a closer look you will see stones, algae, snails, shells and sea urchins. Taking the photo of the open sea anemones was a real challenge. At low tide they pull back and all that’s left are little brown bumps. Only when they are completely surrounded by water, they show their tentacles and the color changes to a bright red.
